ATE Super Blue or Motul 600 Brake Fluid?
#21
Really interesting to find out the ATE Blue has been pulled or even recalled ? So many consistent recommendations out there for it being the one to go for.
I was looking for Typ200 recently and the Eurocarprats only had ATE SL-6 not Super Blue or Typ200. I went with Pagid DOT 4 from my local factors in the end as I don't track the car.

Superblue has been withdrawn from sale purely due to it's colour. I think i'm right in saying that regs in both the US and the UK state that to be road legal brake fluid has to be a golden/amber colour.
It's not a quality issue at all, purely a legal requirement. I've used super blue for a couple of years now and never had any issues with it. I previously used Gulf racing dot 5.1 and the ate is definitely a superior fluid in terms of performance

Yeah some crappy law that if your car was in an accident and brake fluid leaked out in the glorious colour of ATE Blue, services would not know what it was etc... Thats the crappy excuse I was given.

Just a quick question if I may .
I use ATE blue and did not realise it had been dis-continued ! As I have a nasty habit of syringing out both my clutch and brake master cylinder once a year and just topping up with fresh fluid to keep the fluid fresh and to save the hassle of bleeding .
My supply of blue has almost gone would the typ 200 be ok to mix in as I believe that the colour is the only difference.

Iv read on other threads that some people us to alternate between the 2. Using whatever was available to buy on the day. I cant give a 100%, but seems they are identical except for the colour. Could just email ATE / continental and ask or ask for the MDS and compare.
