Default Back AGAIN!

Hi folks,

Well: after a LOAD of different cars - incl. 2 x 3.2TTs, S4, 335d coupe, 2 x Z4Ms & most latterly a SLK 55AMG - I'm back in a S2000!! Well; me and S2000s go back a ways..... I've had three of 'em over the last seven years already. Hey, you hardly need ME to tell you all that there ain't anything else out there quite like 'em.

The one I've got ain't exactly new at 04/04, but it is the facelift (GT) and has only done 2600 miles (FHSH) with one owner from new (third car). Nurb blue and blue. Even still smells new!

Even the girlfriend is happy - the S2K heater (air) is the best she's experienced! (Though she was partial to the airscarf on the SLK 55).

I'm fairly sure that I used to hang around on this forum before - under the name limiterhitter. Good to be back

Cheers for now,

Mike

Hi again,

No; the monica mike9000 is OK by me. Besides, in this latest car, I always change up at bang-on 9K now rather than where-ever it is that the limiter lurks (where is that BTW? I've forgotten......... I really should have found out again by now....... must be gettin' old or summink! )

The car is a PEACH. The gearbox is absolutely the BEST (spesh with the Rick's crackle-black Voodoo knob on - glad I hung onto that!) . The whole car feels light, sharp, deft and scalpel-like - just like a sports car oughta (and just like the SLK 55 did NOT). OK, the SLK 55 sounded lovely even at low revs..... the S2K doesn't, but it sure makes up for it after 6.5K revs! The Benz was - I now consider with hindsight - bought for two reasons: the cc of the engine and the.... ahem.... pose factor. Trouble is, I ain't really much of a poser after all I suppose - I just felt overly conspicuous and like I was trying to be MR BIG!. And the auto box did my head in completely. Nice car: nice to have owned one a while. But NO regrets on going back to the Honda! The Benz engine was a peach for a large engine though: even so and that said, there's something really rewarding about THRASHING a smaller engine in order to make swift progress rather than just putting one's toe to the floor

Been out in it this morning and I gotta say (and absolutely genuinely), that these S2Ks are the DOGS. Splendid fun Will post a few pics in a day or two (even tho I'm sure y'all know what it looks like anyway!).

Cheers all,

Mike
