i need to put you in touch with John

it started to return to colour later

he's been kind enough to let me observe (or loiter probably), interesting how they mix the paint, that first layer was just a random mix to identify imperfections but the colour coat looks pretty ropey without clearcoat

more pics soon. i'm still excited. i still have no idea when i'll get my fricking car back.

it takes about 5 minutes to paint the car in the base coat once prepped. which takes a lot longer than 5 minutes!

here's the proper colour.. pre mix

Define - i use Paintology who painted my BM

They do a lot of insurance work, as with most bodyshops that is their bread and butter i guess
you are welcome to have a look at the car when it's done, or you can have a look at the BM they did a few years ago

mine has not been a priority so has been very slow but i dont mind, the work is part insurance repair (which has been an issue as the no fault claim currently is fault so my renewal was expensive) and part while you're there...

anyway, they are working on it today.. it's very dusty in these pics

Be good to see this polished up. I half thought you were going for a colour change when i saw the pre mixed paint. I guess its just the blue floating on the top!

Haha I thought that was an amazing match considering the approach, he was just pouring in different colours from spent pots, all seemed very random.

Saw the car today, not built up at the front yet so pics at the weekend but it looks amazing. Leaving wing badges off for now
