Default Baffling baffles

So, I took my sump to a smorgasbord of TIG welders today to get my baffle plate welded in, not one could do it on a Saturday obviously (grrrr), more worryingly; one stated that if the sump contains any decent amount of magnesium instead of mostly aluminium he may damage it by welding in the plate.

BS, or is it something I should worry about?

I dont even think the sump does contains any magnesium, I dont think many modern cars do.

Besides people have been welding/modifying the OEM sumps on here for years with no problems.
