Default Battery charge indicator

folks. Quick question about the OEM battery indicator on the battery - can someone take a pic of what the window on the battery looks like when it is 'ok' I can see the red dot but no blue ring and am a bit anxious that it may be on its last legs and don't want to be caught out having seen another post on this

I hadn't started the car since XM5 so gave it a run yesterday - to be on the safe side I used a booster pack and re-started a few times whilst filling up etc which seemed fine, but I can't tell whether the indicator suggests that a charge is needed

Secondly, the Power Steering felt quite heavy but I'm not sure if I'm imagining this as I recall Rob (silver_s2k) had something similar and was told by the dealer after some tests that the voltage was a bit low and would sort itself after a run Any thoughts?

Hi there, I can conform that you should see a red dot and a blue ring clearly, I checked mine yesterday. My battery is only a few months old though, however I do recall the power indicator was faint on my old battery before it gave out. So looks like time for a new one!

Batteries normally have a label on top to show you how to read the state of charge!

There inaccurate anyhow, more of a guide, than the actual state.

Thanks Jake, probably the most helpful comments here I'll give it a charge and see if the blue ring appears If not then I'll get a new battery ready for when I need it
