BBK for track days - Tarox or Wilwood?
Hi,
i'm after BBK and it looks like Tarox and Wilwood can fit under my wheels.
Tarox is based on a 6 pistons caliper:

Willwood is based on "Forged Narrow Superlite" 6 pistons:
http://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/Bra...no=140-10309-R
Both have very little feedbacks online.
which one is better for track days abuse?
currently i have a kit with stock diameter rotor but 2 piece with increased thickness and directional wanes. Caliper is Wilwood forged Dinalite.
no question - it's better than OEM brakes.
but still not enough for the abuse i put on them....

Not sure there's enough experience with the Tarox, but loads of US guys use Wilwood and I've not heard anything -ve. I couldn't get matching Dixcel discs for them IIRC so didn't go for them.
I think a couple of the Italian guys use Tarox calipers.
One guy in my race series has them on his DC2

A lot of the Italians have the Tarox kit as they helped develop it with Tarox.

yes - this sounds way too skinny....
otherwise i would go for them as with Wilwood i have an impression that they have too much cases of poor quality/performance.
zero waranty from Willwood is also not confidence enspiring....

There were a lot of guys in the US went for the 6 pot Wilwoods a long time back as there were a few group buys on them at a very good price. I am not aware of any reported problems with the kits and spare parts are relatively easy to come by (not that I have needed any for years).
I have the 4 pot Wilwoods and they are not any better than OEM for stopping you but there was a 10kg weight saving and they cool down a lot quicker than OEM, which means more time on the track.
