This is ironic: I live in Japan and haven't seen these - where did you get them?!
I've seen three ripped on the net - one S2K chasing a Boxster at 250kmh on a Japanese highway, another with the tester losing it on a bend and going off backwards, and another with a guy casually throwing the tail out on every corner on a track.
There's a funny one around of a Ferrari doing donuts until the engine blows.

I think these are much longer than the clips you are mentioning - each one more than 45 minutes. I downloaded a bunch last year as DviX (or something).
They are good to watch - though frustrating not in English.

Pete, VCD is Video CD format - an ordinary computer CD holding video information like a DVD, but at lower quality. Many newish DVD players recognise them too.
Recently a variation called DivX has been developed which provides better compression, allowing more data to fit on the disc resulting in much higher quality video.
They're copyable like normal compter CDs.
I have various films on Video CD - Cats & Dogs is DivX format and looks superb - almost as good as DVD and its just one 650Mb disc !!

Dan, thanks for the info - thanks to you, I am a wiser man
Pete
PS
I had guessed that it meant Video Compact Disc but I didn't know the difference between that and DVD
