My s2000 came with a Halfords HB053 battery and seems to be working ok so far.
I can leave it a week alarmed (Toad AI606) and still starts up strong.

I'm not fortunate to have access to a garage or trickle charger.
Its parked in our flats communal car park.
Will be interesting to see how it copes in the winter.

For info, my daily Honda Accord 2006 ictdi has an original Honda battery, most likey installed long before i purchased it too.
I have had the car for over 5 years and the battery has not missed a beat.

Incidentally when I said that my previous battery would run flat after 10-12 days that was with the alarm turned OFF (i.e.with the car unlocked in the garage). I have no idea what would cause that sort of drain

Do you have an after market stereo, sub or amplifier installed?
Any after market accessory? i.e dash cam etc
Is the alarm original Honda or aftermarket

Best way to find a parasitic drain would be to hook up a multimeter in series to the battery on the current measuring setting.
With the car in the state you describe, pull the fuses one by one to see if the current reading drops. If it does then this may be your drain.

Yes I have an aftermarket stereo (JVC), alarm (Cobra) and dashcam. Although I added the dashcam long after the battery problem had manifested itself. If it turns out to be the stereo or the alarm I have no idea what I'd do about it though!

Drain on early cars is the alarm I think, I have two and the one with aftermarket alarm lasts longe

Any car will flatten it's battery over time unless you pull it as LG describes.

The S2 is bad as it's a small ish battery

I'm on my 3rd battery on a 17yo car, the Honda original fitment lasted longest. Car is now trickle charged.

Buy local, ECP, Honda or helfrauds, they'd be a mare to post back I think as they are hazardous

Just because the alarm isn't armed doesn't mean it's not drawing from the battery, the only way is to disconnect it.

Hi all, I assume the Yuasa YBX3057 is ok for ours? Trying to get my Blue S2000 up and running after sat in the carpark at work for 18months. The front brakes are also stuck

Dimensions seems to be the same too.

OEM battery is rated i think 45Ah (amp hour), 380 CCA (cold cranking amps)
the pic shows wrong way round terminals though you can pull the connections across its a nasty solution imo

Few weeks ago I was looking for a battery and found yuasa ybx.... Couldn’t be bothered with waiting for deliveries and potential hassle with refunds or posting back. I went to Halfords to get that one which is the same as ybx but it’s with Halfords only product code.
https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...atalogId=10151

What is great Halfords after quick chat price matched it to £60 and in case it fails I take it back to Halfords
At the beginning they didn’t want to match but I asked them to find the one that they sell in any other store than Halfords and they failed
You can not even find it on official yuasa website.
