The Big 150 !!!
Got to 254km/h (=158mph) indicated on the autobahn (yes, really) a couple of weeks ago. I know my speedo reads over by 3-4% based on GPS measurements done at 130mph or so in the past, so I think I broke the 150mph in real life. I wouldn't have wanted to carry out any emergency manoeuvres. But it's a great feeling cruising at 130mph, everything rock solid and not having to look out for the police, even if I was getting overtaken regularly
You
, Colin!
I've never seen the Big 150 myself - I got close with a 145 late at night on a deserted motorway but I bottled it before my confidence and talent deserted me completely and before (knowing my luck) I happened across a bored motorway copper.
The car felt very light by that point and I wasn't all that keen to push it much further on anything other than a completely straight bit of road with nothing for me to hit

Spooky, I managed 141 top down, never seem to try with the top up as its usually raining when I have the roof up. Got a little bored of top speeds, did 151 in the Audi S3. Prefer racing through country roads in Lincs / Notts where there are no other cars about.

How long is a runway?
A light aircraft runway can be a few hundred feet. Ones used by commercial jets will be several thousand feet long.
IIRC, the one at the old USAF base at Bruntingthorpe is a couple of miles long! If you can't VMax the car there, I doubt you will anywhere without taking it somewhere like the Bonneville salt flats!
I once saw 142 with the top up on a 3 laned private road late at night.
It did feel like there was much more and the car seemed to get from 120 to 142 very quickly.
The most I have managed with the top down for a long period of time was 130 - 135ish (late for a ferry)
This was with alot of weight and a very high bootrack on though. Made it feel very stable but the drag was amazing.

I wouldn`t bother with J13/M6 then.
