Default The Big 150 !!!

Went out last night on my own stretch of private tarmac and reached the magic 150 for the first time

Pulled almost 9K in fifth doing around 138, then into sixth and kept my foot down.
Bottled out at 150 pulling around 7800 rpm .... Straight roads seem to grow corners very quickly at that speed.

I've done 130 several times before but that extra 20mph makes the car go very light at the front

Are all the gear ratios and mph per 1000 revs in the FAQ ??? - I shall have a look, just wonder what VMAX should be in a perfect situation.

It does indeed get light!

I've always run out of road shy of Vmax, sadly.

Congrats!

Was this top up or down, I always find the car really struggles with the top down, and it takes ages once you hit 120ish

Moff,

No, this was top up - funnily enough on my return attack I did it top down and managed 141, admittedly though I did not keep my foot in as long and unfortunately I did not clock what rpm I was pulling either.

Definately makes a significant difference top down though.

Cheers

deff seems to feel like a big hand is holding you back with the top down

Its funny though I felt that the back of the car felt like it was really light at the higher speeds rather than the front

I bet the 150mph was only an indicated speed! You needed to go another 10-15mph at least to be actually going 150mph!

I went through a speed gun at 143mph, but it only registered 135mph.

Never thought I'd VMAX the S, then there was this Z3 who boxed me in on the motorway ...

Not big,

Not clever,

... but very satisfying to just drive round him

OOOO and I'm on the first 5 posts - where is everybody today - not voting surely?
