BIG Alarm Problem
Hi all,
I need some help please!
My battery has been disconnected and on trickle charge for a couple of days.
Now when I reconnect the battery, the alarm sounds - problem is, when I press the keyfob to cancel it, nothing happens!
When I've done this in the past, I have had no problem.
I've read the FAQs, Ive downloaded the Thatcham Alarm instructions, but to no avail.
The alarm battery backup has clearly drained as when I disconnect the battery while it is wailing, it stops after 20 seconds or so.
BTW - the keyfob does glow red when pressed so there is still some power in there.
Has anyone any ideas how I can get the system to talk to my keyfob again?

Probably water in the (corroded) bonnet switch. I soldered mine back together, it was so rotten.
The 'Lude one occasionally goes of when you unlock it. Or sometimes when you try to start it.
Stupid bloody thing.

Try the following (the alarm may be going off all the time until the last step):
Key in ignition
Disconnect battery 30 secs (then reconnect - I think)
Remove key
Shut door
Click lock on remote 3 times
Click unlock once on remote
It may then be all OK (for a while).
THEN you still need to contact H&P (if it's an H&P unit) and describe to them what's been happening as it will probably fail again soon.

Thanks for your advice guys.
I've emailed H&P as suggested. It's been passed onto a 'techie' to ge back to me.
I'll post the results.
Thanks Dracoro, I'll give it a try. (the eardrums have been subjected to worse so far!)

I had a similar problem.
I have two fobs, one of them did exactly as you describe, but when I grabbed the other fob it worked fine.
I've since been unable to get the second fob to work.
If you have a second fob try that.
