Big problems with the S2000
Sorry for the late reply, symptoms were poor idleing and faliure to start first time in the mornings unless I press the throttle.
Some garages are telling me that the TB would need programming by Honda and only Honda can do this while others are saying all you may need to do is disconnect the battery?
I'm totally confused and dont know what to do

They'll be talking about the TPS needing programmed.
Try and read the FAQ and that might sovle your problems, without knowing exactly i doubt the TB and ICV would be a problem.
Could be all sorts of things...
Dirty filter, MAP sensor, plugs, dirty ICV, o2 sensor etc etc etc

There's a lot of things that are more likely to be casuing the fault than the things suggested by your Honda Dealer. Did they check other things or come straight to this conclusion.
If you are not confident in working through the FAQ and related threads then look for a good indepandant that knows his Honda engines. It's prob a little too far to travel but a lot of us have used TGM in Fleet.
Does anyone have any info on Jorge from crown?

Faisal, what they are telling you is utter bullshit. It makes me angry and is the reason I got into doing my own diagnostics.
There is no programming with the throttle body. There are 2 sensors on it, one on the side and one on the top. The side one is the throttle sensor. When you put your foot down, the cable opens the throttle and the sensor tell the ECU (engine contol unit) where the throttle is to help it fuel correctly. The one on the top is the MAP sensor and this directly controls the fuelling and has input into the idle. It tells the ecu what pressure is inside the throttle body, and therefore what load the engine is doing.
If it were either of these sensors, they can be bought on their own for around £100 each. TPS rarely fails and never needs setting up once it's installed. The MAP can fail and cause idle and fuelling issues.
See my guide here:

But absolutely do not believe what they are telling you the lying robbing ****s! Disgraceful.
I suspect your lambda sensor is gone, but it would need testing. Where are you located?
PS - run through the guide above and cancel out easy things first.

I'm based in Dunstable which is near Luton.
Get yourself over there tomorrow evening and we will take a look at your car problems.
(Sounds like it needs a MAP whack to me)
