Default bit of a moment today

Well after 3months of S2K ownership i was staring to get complacent about driving it.

Error.

Decided to drive the S today even though its crappy weather, approaching carpark at work coming round a slight left hander, slightly up hill with slushy snow underneath with hardly any throttle and v low speed about 15mph (taking it easy). Hmm all of a sudden im going sideways managed to catch it ok mainly due to low speed so no harm done.

Definately regained a lot of respect for the S again

I finally figured out last year that driving a powerfull rear wheel drive car in the type of weather we've had over the last couple of weeks is a silly idea. I now have a second car.

I've seen dozens of crashed cars on news programmes and on the roads myself over the last week. Even 4x4s

no S2000s though

funny that

this weather can catch you out in anything

The 3 month period is about when you're due your first biggie.
As you say, you start getting complacent, thinking that you've tamed the beast. For me, this meant through a hedge and 100 feet into a field.

Saw a guy in a Lotus Elan going sideways this morning, WTF was he thinking driving it in the snowy conditions. Also saw a woman in a Merc 4x4 trying to caine it on the duel carriageway that was still thick with snow, she was totally in the wrong gear, moving forward but the wheel sspinning like hell, seemed she was just nailing the throttle in first.

I slid a few times in the g/f's Clio, does not matter if its front wheel drive or a 4x4 you are still going to slide if between the rubber and the road is ice/snow/slush.

If it was the newer (Isuzu 1.6 Turbo engined) Elan, then it's FWD.

Silly me, by the sounds of it I've got it all wrong buying a 55phb Fiat Punto, which incidently I've not had any moments in. I should however be running round in a 350bph rear wheel drive car because it'll make no difference.

Are you guys for real?

Ste,

You're half right.

Yes, buy a cheap FWD, but it can be a quick one.

CRX for a grand ? 130-160 bhp and over 45mpg

You know it makes sense.

Dave.

Your not looking to part with one of the family are you Dave?

Mind, you've got so many Hondas you'd never know it'd gone!
