Bleeping when ignition turned off - why ??
There is one potentialy very serious drawback that Andy W has pointed out - it is possible for a small stone to be thrown up high enough to be drawn into and eventually penetrate the filter.... you don't want that to get inside your engine.... (this has happened to owners by the way..... with all the grit on our roads my lid is firmly on at the moment

Sort off 10ish on a badness scale 0-10
Yep, that kind of bad
The worst bit is that apparently by reviewing the recent history data on the ECU they can also see that the cover has recently been off the car thus giving them grounds to disallow a waranty repair

As to performance, I have to say that, if there is a drop in perfomance, it is so small that I've not noticed it, and the thrill factor more than compensates

PS Which owners has this happened to TR?

I heard about the stone ingestion nightmare off Andy W, he seems to be "in the know" about these things from his dealings with Honda.

I've looked at the car and tried to imagine how a stone could do what's been described. Seems a bit like the JFK magic bullet theory to me!

PS
So I will leave my cover off (but put a net over it too)
