Blowing Cold Air
Afternoon all
So my heater is currently only blowing out cold air, not ideal with the weather at the moment.
This morning I was booked in to get a new radio installed, Alpine IDE-178BT, and on the way to the garage the heater was working fine. The guy turned up late and as a result my battery went flat and I needed a jump. My own fault, I don't use the car often and I sat there waiting for him to arrive with the radio on.
So he gave me a jump and proceeded to install the stereo including running the microphone up the passenger window and to just beside the rear view mirror. All well and I left. On the way back home I noticed the air was not warming up.
Is there anything the stereo fitter could have done to cause this or do we think this could just be coincidence? Anything I can check? Bare in mind I am not mechanically minded. She will be with TGM Monday for a service so this could be something else to do while there.
Cheers

Im in the same situation mate but mine is hot air haha!
Firstly go into the engine bay. Stand in front of car with bonnet open. Far right in bay connected there is a black box with a metal line connected to it. Make sure the metal hoop is over the black box and that it moves freely. The black box is the temp control valve.
If thats connected and it moves check the relevant fuse.
If it still doesnt work make sure everything is connected. Green loom into back of controls unit in cabin. Can be seen by ramming head into footwell.
Next check that this loom is connect to the motor which moves the metal wire controlling the temp control valve in engine bay.
You can find the motor by removing the plastic panel where your knees are on the passenger side. Once removed bottom right there is a black plastic case housing a motor. Make sure there is a plug going into this.
If thats connected yoi now need to check that all the white plastic aparatus used to move the metal wire are connected and working. You may need to remove passenger airbag to see this.
The above is all i have done to bo avail. I think my heater control unit has failed.
Good luck hope this helps
