Bonnet Catch Rusted
Strangely I just did the same job myself last weekend.
I was pulling the release catch more and more on each ocassion; and I was having to have 4-5 attempts at shutting the bonnet from increasingly higher heights.
I took the catch off- three bolts and a t-ended cable, cleaned all the s--t off all parts, springs etc and then molygreased the whole assembly.
Upon re-fitting, use the one bolt as a pivot and the opposite two to adjust the alignment until the bonnet releases, and shuts firmly with no dramas.
Simples.
