Default bonnet struts

i have just fitted some gas struts to the bonnet and although the kit was well made and fitted no problem it pushes the bonet up in the middle, not a huge amount but it makes the panel gaps look crap, i cant see anything fowling so im thinking its the force of the struts pushing on the bonnet hinge, anybody experianced this? any tips? will the struts weaken in time and this issue go away?
i bought them private off ebay they where cheap enough for me to take off or modify, im not interested in answers like "I bought mine from Itsotaki racing for the price of 3 bedroom house in kent and they fit perfect" i know they are not top end stuff just seing if others have noticed the same or have a cure.

on the plus side it may help with lowering the engine bay temp

I never even knew you could get these for the S, and for your post I am grateful although this is no help to you whatsoever! Sorry!

I have the Stokie tech ones off eBay and they fit fine.
The only problem I had was the original bolts were too short, so I had to get some longer ones.

If you fancy a trip down to Leighton Buzzard I would gladly take a look at them and compare the fitment to mine.

So the lesson here is that the cheap ebay ones fit far better than over priced hideous green items.

mine came in the package for Stokie tech i'm sure they are as the packet looked un opened, i paid £32 so its not a major issue, just been for a drive nothing rattles so they don't touch the body, i may keep them on and see if the gas pressure drops after a while. I tried the way it suggests to fit them but found the best fit was to turn the brackets around so the ball fitting on the hinge end faced inwards

I have the same issues with engine bay temperatures, I've just fitted a vented bonnet and put 12mm spacers on the hinges so hopefully that will help.
And my extremely expensive Science of Speed dampers got fitted at the same time! It was a bit nerve racking drilling into a brand new Carbon bonnet.

I think this is your problem. I also fitted the cheap ones, and they're perfect. What's the point buying expensive when it's only there to hold my bonnet up? But I would fit them with the ball facing away from the engine bay as it states. Just going from images in my head I can't imagine it going well if you use the brackets backwards.....

i was considering doing the spacers, i have just removed the rubber trim that runs across the back plastic cover this in effect opens the bonnet to allow air out (same as the spacers) it also allows the heater intake to take hot oil smelling air and bathe the interior in it, if no strip drops the temp i will fit a shroud around the intake only, i personally don't mind the smell but i suspect the verbal brake might not appreciate it.
keep me up to date on all your tests, im surprised the vented bonnet didnt cure it
