Default Boot opening issues

Right, I know the correct remote boot opening technique and, as I've posted before, my car boot will not release if the car is warm i.e. first boot release of the day, no problem. Second attempt, not a chance.

This may be a flaky relay or a connector under the steering column that I've seen reference to.

Its one of a few issues that I want to sort on the car. Advice re sourcing of replacement boot springs to deal with the OEM rear spoiler weight also appreciated.

Any ideas on the boot release issue?

Oh, and I've seen from some research this morning that:

(a) Budgie has to post a remote boot opening success rate of somewhere between 62% and 66%

(b) Smug StevenM has to state a 100% success rate

FWIW with my JDM...

Before with the standard keyfob, I can open the boot with a success rate of 70%.

After I fitted the Clifford alarm with boot release, I can remote open the boot 100% whatever the weather.

/states a 100% rate and ducks

But then mine came with two different types of fob, one of which has a specific boot release button.

Impoverished EU import car owner here, with Clifford alarm and 100% success rate on boot opening, whatever the time, date, temperature, alignment of the planets, state of defcon, etc etc
