Default boxster s somewhat lacking?

hey guys, had a nice drive out with a mate over the weekend, he has recently purchased a 2000 plate boxster s. Anyhows innevitably we ended up having a little tickle up the dual carraigeway.... irresponsible i know.. Anyhows to my amazement there was no difference in the cars at all! obviously i'd expect top top end there would be but we didn't go too silly. Is this right?! or does he have an underperforming boxster s?!

Early boxster S had about 250hp i think so not much in it. The newer 987 shape is a bit tasty though, around 290bhp i think

yeah, 250bhp indeed, torque is up there at around 220ish lbft however, thought this would make a big difference! we were on the flat however so i guess it may not have came into full effect

Depends if he put his foot down or waited you never know

I know a few weeks back i had a blast with a vx220 and left it accelerating out from a slow roll in 1st, when he was behind.

No problem.

You'd be amazed at how many people can't understand it.

I showed it to a bloke who had an Automotive Engineering degree (apparently) and he couldn't grasp it.

Mind you, I once asked a 3rd year Aircraft fitter apprentice how many eighths were in an inch....he didn't know

I had a straigh line race in the 400 bhp Evo, against a tuned Toyota Starlet... I pulled away from him to 100 then backed off. He carried on past me.

Next thing I see him posting on a website saying he trounced an Evo.

Hmmm.

I also got beaten in an STi by someone in a 200SX, when my clutch was shot.

And by someone in some twisties, when I had brand spanking new (slippy) tyres.

I've punished other big stuff and twigged that they either didn't care, or were still running the engine in...

You never know, that's the problem
