Default Boxter 'S'

Had a great drive in convoy with a new Boxter 'S' ths morning - excellent weather, roof down and a fellow enthusiast who was as intent on enjoying himself as me

Picked him up as I left the M4 at Tormarton, I was leading initially and didn't drop below 6000rpm for about 10 miles . We stopped at a local pub to talk cars, chap was really impressed with the 'S' and its pace and I would say that the new Boxter is certainly a step on from the old model in the looks department - it looked superb (Cobalt Blue, 19" alloys, lowered PASM suspension etc etc) and went very well indeed .

I then followed in convoy and was myself impressed with the S2000's ability to stay in touch, although I had to work pretty hard to stay in touch when the road got bumpy and the road surface was badly scarred (Boxter was far more composed in these conditions).

What a fantastic drive. It was great to meet a fellow enthusaist instead of multiple members of the 45mph 'Numpty Club'. Why can't every Sunday morning be this good (even got the from Trafpol on my way back home whilst 'cooling down' )?

I think this summer is going to be a good un'

Andy

i also found the boxster s more composed when driven on bad roads, had to go out for a drive with the brother in law and he was able to take worse roads at higher speed than i could.

S just didnt like the rebounds, got me thinking maybe its time to up grade the suspension.

and on the other end of the scale i was driving in front of a boxsta S tonight for about two miles on a 30 mph road in brialliant sunshine - he had his top up - and he was talking on his mobile the whole time - tried to give him "the stare" but he just blanked it or didn't realise i was trying to be disapproving towards him

Used the stare and a shake of the head on 4 or 5 drivers today. What the hells the point of buying a drop-top if you don't plan on using it.

i was mildly disapproving of his not having the top-down but majorly disapproving of his mobile phone use - really bugs me that.

can't remember if i posted this story on here or not but a couple of months ago i beeped my horn and gave a good shouting to at a driver who jumped a red-light whilst on his mobile phone coming towards me (so basically my light had went to green but i couldn't pull away because this fool was dring towards me as he'd obviously jumped his light while it was blatantly red 0 on his mobile)

anyway, as he got level with me and and i'm busy shouting the odds at him i clock who it was - none other than our esteemed new (ish) scotland manager, walter smith - in a big blue jag.

comedy moment

still a real bit of dodgy driving though - you'd think a millionaire (must be) would be able to afford a full hands free kit in his car!

:thum bdn:

Not everyone buys the car because you can lower the roof, and there are a million and one reasons why someone might have the top up.
