Default Braided Brake Lines?

Just had some new disks and pads fitted, went for EBC discs and EBC Red pads. Just wanted to know if any of you guys have got braided brake lines and if they make any difference when the fluid has got a bit warm after some track time

The general consensus is that the brake lines are very short, and are very good, so there's little point.

Better fluid will have more of an effect.

However, if you do want to do it, then DixonMotorsports sells them - see the Traders section.

The Honda brakes are plenty good enough and as Lovegroova says - fluid is the key.

Cheers guys as I've already uprated the fluid to DOT 5.1 I think I'll leave the lines as stock.

Agreed,

Fluid will make more difference, try some 5.1 if your tracking at all

You'll unlikely notice any difference as such under 'normal' braking.

However you will almost certainly notice a difference under heavy or sustained braking (trackdays, hard road driving etc) where your standard lines would expand under pressure and cause that horrid 'spongey' feeling on the pedal that the braided lines would eliminate.

That said if you do just drive the car 'normally' on the road then my own reason for fitting braided lines would be that they are guarenteed for LIFE and if you pick the right ones made from stainless steel.

The OEM mild steel hoses have a shelf life of around 5-10 years depending on the cars usage and location (last alot less on the coastal areas)

i ordered Challenge lines from US.
will report back after i get/install them.

as about "guarenteed for LIFE" - unless they're clear coated i can;t see how this can be true.
as braided lines are known to catch debris between braids which slowly eat the inner tube...

HELS Braids are covered and crimped so no degradation will occur.
