Braided Hoses & Brake Line Corrosion
I had the car serviced by a mechanic friend a couple of weeks ago and we were also going to fit my Hel braided hoses at the same time. However, the front hoses on the car came un-done easily enough but the rears were rusted and corroded...so my friend said that it risks twisting the brake pipe if too much pressure is put on the nut that connects from the existing rear hoses to the solid brake lines...
Now he said that it may mean making some new brake pipe up for the rear section of the car but looking at the routing of the brake lines it seems there is a metal collar that holds the brake line in place on the body directly between the subframe and the underneath of the car inside the wheel arch area. This collar is attached with a small bolt but there doesnt seem to be any way of getting to it with any sort of tool to either undo or re-tighten back up without dropping the whole subframe!
Has anyone got any ideas of any ways around this?
Thanks.

You could try soaking the hose/pipe joint in rust eze/wd40/toolbox buddy for a week and try splitting them then, as for the pipe retaining bit I don't know sorry.

If you mean the bracket holding the OEM brake hardline, you can lower the subframe enough to undo it (ring spanner). However, that will knock your rear suspension alignment out.
