Brake fluid
Hi, I am going to be changing brake lines and brake pipes so guess this is good time to change brake fluid.
I have 2x 1 litre bottles of dot 4, just wondered if this is ok? And how much do I need?
Any advice or tips would be good. Thanks.

I suppose it depends on why you are changing lines etc? If you're changing hoses for something more heat resistant, then it would make sense to go for ATE Super Blue or RBF600 which have a higher boiling point and therefore performance impact.

I just use Castrol DOT4.
I spend the majority of my time driving on the road and don't need the high boiling point of a racing brake fluid as you hardly use the brakes on the road. If I go to a track, I just change the fluid anyway.
Much cheaper...

On fresh fluid you'll get pad fade before fluid fade. And the more expensive the fluid, the more often it needs to be replaced. I used to alternate between the Castrol Response dot4 and ATE Super blue.
Both were similar price and it was easy to see when I'd flushed the old one out
1 litre should be easy enough as a few people have said.
