Brake pads - which should you buy?
OK I am in the market for new pads, I have tried a few types in the years of owning the S, however I would like to gauge opinion, so which would be the pads you would choose, occasional track day fast road usage?
£120 EBC Red Stuff
£148 EBC Yellow stuff
£184 FERODO DS2500
£190 BREMBO Sport HP Brake Disc Pads HONDA S2000
£316 DIXCEL Z Pads (+ Delivery)
£376 CARBOTECH XP10
All prices are current and inc VAT and delivery, both front and rear pads inclusive.
Please feel free to add your own 'brand' if you feel I should consider a different set than above, thanks.
NOTE: Currently have EBC redstuff, and I have been impressed with their braking ability and their low dust levels, not so impressed with their longevity although they have just about managed a year which would include 2.5 track days and a run or two ... they are a good price as well!

Carbotech XP8/XP10, piss all over Redstuff for power, fade, control and they'll outlast them too, by a long way usually.
Gentler on discs as well so saves you money there.
They are a touch dusty but it washes off with a hose.

I used to run Ferodo's on my Clio Williams track car and couldn't fault their ability. Bang for buck they would be my choice. Never liked EBC but I guess the thread screams for loads of personal opinions...

Yeah I have used Ferodos before and I quite liked them they lasted about 18 months or so, but they were dusty as hell and when we went to the track the other day my mate had them on his S (I had redstuff) and he was following me round for 10 laps or so at Blyton (notoriously heavy on brakes, and we were both gunning it) when we came in his were literally smoking ... they seem very 'soft' but I agree they are good pads.

i have yellow stuff, 5.1 fluid, braided lines, did an open pit lane at anglesey in some very hot weather last month and they were perfect, had the ds2500 before and they were ok, but prefer the yellow stuff.
its a big increase in cost from yellow -> dixcel, and is it worth twice as much to you to run them, the yellows certainly arnt half the brake pad, with half the stopping capacity, and half the life...
