Default Brake pedal adjustment

Is there any? There's a bit of free-play at the top of the pedal before it starts really resisting. However there's a fair amount of braking effect in this floaty part of the pedals travel, so I often feel like the brakes are coming on too hard before I can even feel any real resistance from the pedal.

I can get used to it, and float my foot on the pedal a bit more, but I'd rather the brakes were nice and progressive like my old celica.

Most Hondas are the same - over servo'ed. As you said, you do get used to it.. Best brake pedal feel I ever experience was in my 1991 Ford Escort Eclipse 1.3. Crap at absolutely everything, except brake feel

I wouldn't say the S2000's brakes are over-servo'ed, a lot of people complain at how hard you have to press them, they are on the other hand quite good for a standard car

MIP - My brakes aren't like that at all, there is that free play bit you can push down with your finger but it doesn't do anything on mine. Your not driving in massive boots or something are you?

I find it quite easy to modulate the braking and the pedal feel is not too bad at all.

I got in an Astra (hire car) after the S. Its brakes were like a switch! Kept jolting them on for the first few miles. Then got back in the S and realised how nice and progressive they are.

Yea, I had a kia rio has a courtesy car once. Driving away I did the worlds most pointless emergency stop about 5 meters before the junction.

The S isn't like that at all, but I'd rather the bit at the top of the travel didn't do anything, just because its what I'm used to really. I find it a bit over-servo'd like hypersonik says. To the point where its locked wheels up in the damp on a slightly spirited drive.

But if I can't change it, I'll just have to learn to be a bit softer.

Don't jump on the brakes then, brake progressively harder and harder that way the weight transfer helps keep the fronts from locking up

You'll get used to it

As RedUn says, nice and smooth is the way forward.

Your ABS should counter any no-brain moments though.

However, never depend on it entirely

That's exactly it! I had a quick look round to make sure nobody was looking!
