Default Brake warning light on in red

As per the question really, my warning light is on in red but everything seems ok.
My manuals in japanese and i obviously cant make heads or tail of it.

Does anyone know what it'll mean?

It doesn't seem to affect anything but i dont want it to affect the SVA.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

On past cars, this would happen if both brake bulbs had gone

Low brake fluid? Have you checked the reservoir level?

Your pads are low.

When the pads get low, the level in the res drops (as the pisons travel further).

Don't top up the fluid, change the pads.

If you DO top up the fluid, when you change the pads (and push the pistons in) the res will overflow.

Yep -it's used as a warning for low fluid, which as Bibbs says, is due to the fluid being displaced more when you have low pads.

Bibs is correct, but there is also a chance the fluid was never set up correctly in the first instance. My light does not come on when the pads are low.

As you say, there are wear indictors, so if you don't have any squealing I'd be tempted to just do a visual check to confirm the thickness of the pads and then top up fluid level just a touch. You could have 1000's of miles left in them.

The wear sensor is a metal clip that starts squealing on the disk, to make a horrid squeak/squeal all the time.

to be honest, i havn't even checked the sensor, had a quick look at the pads though and they seem to have plenty of meat on them. I'll jack it up tonight and have a look.
