Brakes at the Ring
Am going to the ring in a couple of weeks and was planning to replace my brake pads with a new set of OEM pads before going.
My question however is how will the OEM pads stand up to a lap of the ring? This will be my first time driving on the ring so am going to be keeping it fairly steady.
If they aren't going to stand up to a lap what are the recommended alternative? DS2500's? I don't want to spend a fortune though...

It all depends on driving style.
Having said that, last summer I met a chap who'd spent a day at the ring, and managed a day and a half at Spa straight afterwards before his rear brakes ran out.
So it's certainly do-able.

Some people use them, but apparently they squeak a lot.
The OEMs are fine (and a lot cheaper) if you are taking it "steadily".
if the search is working, try a search for "Mintex 1144" - you'll get a lot more info.

I am doing the same in the next couple of months.. front discs and pads are new.. in fact, new pads all round so I'm going to stick to OEM and take a spare set of front pads with me in case...
Much cheaper to replace the front pads when needed than upgrade to a set of aftermarkets for the sake of one trip for me.. and I don't have any issues with the OEM pads, they may fade a little earlier on a track, but they have good bite from cold on the road which is far more important to me
