Default Bridgestone Tread Depth

Looking at my rear Bridgestones, I have 3/4mm of tread left. I seldom let my tyres get down to the minimum legal tread depth. Especially with this car and Winter looming. So if anyone has recently replaced their rear Bridgestones, I'd be very grateful if they could tell me how much more tread I'm going to get if I replace them.

Not sure about the depth when new, but it is a common feeling around here to replace them when they get to 3mm...otherwise it'll start getting hairy in this weather.

Change them and change them now, this is not the weather for low tread tyres on the S, especially with little experience of the car.

When new i think the tyres are 8mm or so.

Oh I would like to add, I would only have this concern with the rear tyres, not so much the fronts.

They are about 8mm in the centre of a 245/40/17 RE050
Nowt wrong with less tread so long as you consider:
They wont heat up so quickly.
They won't clear the water so well.

Drive according to your knowledge and all shuld be fine.

Thanks guys.........I'll get the rears done in the new year. I've never done a track day with a car, only with my bike at Silverstone with the Californian Superbike School. It was hard work and brilliant. So it looks like I'll be saving a few quid for tyre disposal when I get the new ones fitted. Sorry abut that "Peters2000." Ummmmm track day. Can't wait.
