Buddy Club Aero Carbon Fibre Bonnet
Mulling over hacking-up my bonnet to fit my Mugen CAI, I've been considering a CF bonnet.
The Mugen bonnet is hugely expensive and IMHO not the most attractive - I'm not too comfortable with those 70's style RGA stick-on looking louvres...
Anyway, a quick trawl on the web has thrown-up the Buddy Club Aero Carbon Fibre Bonnet - it looks nicely understated compared to the Mugen and it is sensible-ish money. Buddy Club equipment appears to get good quality reviews - even if the name seems more appropriate to a rent-boy hangout...
Question. Has anyone seen one in the flesh and will it accommodate the Mugen CAI - presumably with the same hacking-up as the OEM bonnet requires?

Both CF bonnets I have had, Seibon and J's have been moulded to suit a Mugen CAI.
Cutting a CF bonnet is not something I would ever consider.
With CF bonnets you get what you pay for ...... the Mugen and J's bonnet are excellent quality and weigh around half the weight of the OEM bonnet. The Seibon one wasn't such good quality and weighed more than the OEM bonnet.

I think the Mugen one looks by far the best .....
From what I've read the Seibon items would appear not to be the 'best' quality - but I can't comment personally.
I'm sure the Mugen bonnet is superb but at a best price of some

I have one on my car. I have never actually weighed it but it is far less then oem, has a far lighter structure underneath. Has a cut out moulded in to accomodate a mugen style CAI as well.
The weave was actually pretty flawless which i was surprised about considering the cost. Have had a few issues with the laquer wearing but i think that has a lot to do with big underbonnet temps due to the turbo. Have now had it painted so no issues. Fitment is very good as well with fairly even gapping , though it took a while to get set up 100%.

Thanks for the info lucky77.
Bonnet ordered and hopefully it arrives Tuesday next week.
A search on US forum suggests the J's Racing aero bonnet and the Buddy Club one are one and the same - allegedly made by the same company!

I will be very interested in seeing the bonnet when it arrives. Please give me a shout when convenient.
