Default Bumper Scuff

Hi all,

I unfortunately scuffed my bumper last week, and was after a bit of advice on who to contact for a fix?

I live in Rugby, and have spoken to Honda in Coventry and they have said around the £130 mark. The scuff isnt that bad, so was going to try Chips Away and maybe get a slight alloy scuff soreted and some stone chips at the same time.

Obviously want the best price for the best quality of work.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Simon.

Chips away normally do a shit job.

IIRC, your colour is a bugger to paint.

I'd go for a local independent sprayer with a good reputation.

You might have to hang around the local Kustom Kar scene & ask...

You may want to run it past Tango Man who runs a company called Extreme Detailing (see Traders Forum) to see whether the scuff can be buffed out.

I will be surprised if he can buff out a scuff in a plastic bumper

Firstly thanks for the comments!

Unfortunately the scuff is down to the black of the bumper plastic in some areas so buffing is not an option. Have already got the worst of using tcut etc.

If i go down the Honda route, do they have their own spray shops or do they use prefered private suppliers?

Thanks,

Simon.

If I recall correctly.

To be honest, I would probably have a go at it myself, but again, it depends how bad it is. I've managed a couple of pretty good repairs on my bumper, having never done it before.

A repair kit from http://www.paints4u.com costs about £12, and if you fail you can fall back on the pro repair option.

That's just me though. I'm reckless.

It's gone up now. £13.69.

Was thinking about giving it a go myself, trouble is the colour as it is the Bermuda Blue? Will Halfords or paint4u.com be able to get it? Just had a look and they only have the monte carlo blue on their list.
