Bungs
I'd advises anyone who is thinking about a performance exhaust, to try to get one with a sub silencer (bung) if at all possible. My Apexi Hayabusa sounds horrendous when starting up from cold even on tickover, but quietens as the choke goes off to being indistinguishable from stock until you apply revs, when it's very deep and throaty rising to an F1 howl that rends the air at the top end.
I've taken to running locally with the bung in and noticed better mid range poke due probably to back pressure? - at the cost of some top end grunt no doubt, but it's hardly noticeable. Even with the bung in it sounds great, but I don't get funny looks from the neighbours!
If you have a zaust without one I would think any small engineering place should be able to fabricate something for you.

IMHO, the HKS gets quieter after a few months of use (or my hearing is diminishing).
Tried a MY2000 with and without HKS back to back b4 I bought my S! Left hand braker complained the HKS was TOO loud. On long journeys I have to agree with her
for annoying the locals it in short bursts it would be fine
I now have a mentalist ICE system which makes a loud zorst a waste of time!
