if its after fast driving and the wheels are hot to the touch, then it is probably just the hot brake smell that you get when the pads get hot. mine always does this after a spirited drive and my alloys get too hot to comfortably touch. the smell can get worse as the pads wear as there is less material to absorb the heat.

Not to mention the heated boot floor!

There was a post about this only the other day, can't remember who, but his alloys were so hot you couldn't touch them. Think the consensus was that the brakes /handbrake maybe binding. There was a burning smell with that to.

Sounds OK then,

Ive just rang Jakan Honda as per a other thread and they said the same thing as you and/or it could be a seized caliper. So ive made an informed decision to get new pads fitted by them in about an hour!!

I'll let you all know.

Jakan are where we had our Meguiar's day. Good bunch of people.

I too get this smell all the time but can it is stronger as soon as I park it in the garage. Nothing to worry about as long as your alloys are not too hot. I always drive the last mile to my house very slowly and don't apply the brakes as much. Letting the car cool down just like on a track day is good for it.

I get this all the time after hard driving, nothing to worry about, and I am sure its just the brakes. They are very good but do seem to wear quickly.

Ok,

Been to Jaken, there a good bunch of guys I knew 2 of them from my school days!!!

There conclusion was I brake to hard and too much!!!

It is/was the OEM pads, fluids etc. not really upto the job and burn up to easily.

There solution was some rather expensive pads. which I declined. So i got them to fit my OEM ones i had in the boot.

But all in a very worthwhile trip, slightly cheaper than a Dealership, nice lads unlike a dealership, some intresting advice, a look round a turbo teg, nice workshop, posh washbay (as some may know). I will use them for my next service.
