Default Camera Mounts

I was looking for camera mounts suitable for use in the car and came across this:

Has anyone tried one of these? I was thinking you could mount it on the wind deflector but I am worried the weight may just make it tip forward into the folded position.

Take a look at Sportscam or RFconcepts.
Websites are easy to find.
They do some very nice autofocus separate bullet cams that plug into your camcorder and are much lighter and easier to mount anywhere on your car.

I use an ultra clamp in a similar fashion to the one linked. the problem is that the deflector itself wobbles around, moreso with a heavier camera.

Ultra clamp http://www.fastfilms.co.uk/fixed-camera-mounts.php £20

and for a windscreen mount a quad sucker http://www.fastfilms.co.uk/quad-sucker-win...amera-mount.php

Here are the results of the two together.

That's interesting. I couldn't see much in the way of wobble in your video. Which bit is filmed with the camera mounted on the deflector?

Ah, I posted the wrong vid, here's the right on. The small window in the top left which is the deflector mounted camera, a lightweight Nikon Coolpix S1.

The main pic is from the windscreen mount (which you can see in the deflector mounted view)

RossP - I would personally not go with that Manfrotto one simply because it means you've got to have the window open, which isn't ideal if it's raining, and you'll get a load of unwanted wind noise.

I have a Modifry lower profile mount which works very well

bit pricey but discounts throught the benefit section, superb mount, you get a lovely clear shot with no vibration.

I was just about to say m1 had one of those for sale recently. Sold now though.

That's what I would go for, if I was so inclined.
