Although I can't read the last part of the number, the GFE6A and the logo and HAD are the same.

I'd go so far as to say that seller's mistaken and that's stock.

Retracted after realising what the difference is.

For reference, mine's a UK 03

Right ... I have my old/standard '05 one in my hand.

Says - HAD, and GFG6A50214.

On now is the "new" spoon one - Venturi big throttle.

right, then we have a mystery to solve

the last owner of my car said that it had a Spoon throttle body

that link I posted is supposed to be of a Spoon throttle body

and is identical to the body on my car

and yours too, by the sound of it, which I am assuming is oem

this is complicated by my understanding that only internals may have been changed

is there any easy way to find out what I have on my car?

(and no, I don't have a receipt!)

Gad... AFAIK "Spoon" buy standard throttlebody parts are rework them, so they will still have the same markings.

I've just dug a little deeper and that line "this is complicated by my understanding that only internals may have been changed" is what I'm seeing too. OEM part but bored out.

I'm still surprised they don't emboss Spoon on the outside though.

I suspect only disconnection and measurement will reveal the true identity.

Don't you just pull the intake off and measure the ID (internal diameter) of the TB?
