Default Cannot fill with petrol

Hello all
Since I had my 2000 I have always found t it hard to put petrol in, I tried different stations etc.
I used to angle the Handel up at 12 o clock.
Recently this stopped working altogether and now every time it try and put petrol in the overfuel thing keeps clicking.
I managed to put a tender I but it too A while.

Is this a common fault?
Can anyone advise what I can do ?

Cheers all

Are you using Vpower? If not the car will have a tantrum reject the nozzle.......

Hi there
Yeah I use vpower or BP's 97.
The petrol pumps keep thinking my car is full. I'm sure the pump goes in as much as it always did.

Squeeze the trigger gently, the more frustrated you get the worse it will get. If I get an akward pump I move the thing around till I find a sweet spot.

I have it all the time. I use V-Power and other first pump I tried at the station I tend to go to wasn't having any of it. The second pump was better but still did it, third time I did it, it was still doing it but after a few repositions of the nozzle (pointing at 9 o clock) it would work fine. Odd I know but seems to depend on the pump.

I ram it in and turn the handle up to about 2 or 3 o'clock (assuming the handle is straight up and down to start with) and it seems to sit really well regardless of what petrol station I'm using. Never had any issues filling any of my Hondas this way

Just put the nozzle about halfway in (oo-er missus). That'll fix it.

I guess the pump stops because of back pressure from the tank, is there some kind of vent that could be blocked? (thought I'd post somthing sensible for a change).

I used to have this problem at one garage in particular. After complaining a couple of times, and getting nothing but a shrug, I just stopped going there.

Putting it in half way should work. Just be careful of not letting it spurt petrol all over your shoes.

I presume it could be the breather pipe that could be causing it, number 13/14 below:
