My S came with an 'XCar link' MP3 player adapter with either an ipod or stereo pin plug thing connector already attached.

Now I've tried both an Ipod and normal stereo connections, and I can't get it to work. It says on the destructions that I'm supposed to press 'cd/aux' twice, which I would have thought would switch it to aux, however it ignores me and does nothing.

I've tried this with a cd in, and a cd ejected, and I've gained no wisdom from the manual or searching on here.

Why won't it play damnit?!

 

Dude, have you tried holding the button in for a few seconds at all?

 

Mine did this once or twice before the x-car link died (which turned out to be a bad connection on the plug that went into the head unit and was replaced under warranty).

Reseting the stereo and reentering the stereo code by disconnecting the battery for a minute or so meant that the stereo could 'see' the x-car link on the aux button again.
