Default CD ERR

I went round a bumpy corner today and the cd player stops.. msg on the lcd on the HU says CD ERR

now i can't select CD, nothing will play.. had a quick look at the unit, still ejects the cart, tried that a few times.. nowt..

is it busted?

anyone else had this?

Try reseating the cabling at both ends of the link. The bump could easily have shaken a cable loose.

However it's also eminently possible that it's buggered. Warranty?

Sounds knackered to me. Probably not worth keeping when you can get second hand units for around

checked the cables at the back end (near the changer) all seems OK. changer has power to eject.. last thing i need right now, gotta tax the bugger and i'm off on hols and stuff.. i might go for one of these ipod compatible head units and an ipod, no more jumpin.....

feckin feck feck..

fixed. no apparent problem on either end of the changer lead but removal of the stereo and the din style plug, followed by refit fixed the problem.

will see if it comes back now? weird.

Cd changer wouldn't have been covered anyway. It's an extra and would probably only have been subject to a 1yr warranty

I get mine so that it won't play mp3's on every spirited drive.

All the heat doesn't help.

Right, i'm weight saving and this came out tonight. The bracket has a stud at the back, do i just prise that out? Its 2 bolts at the front and this flat thing at the back...

I retrieved my cds, all cdrs so a waste of time
