Car cleaning question!
Hmm,
I assume a clay bar is much like what we call rubbing compund here? That stuff seems drastic to me - like a fine sand paper which can only be removing a layer of clear coat. With enough of that, you would be down to bare paint, won't you?
I also find anything labled "swirl and scratch reomove" can barely remove anything but very lightest of swirls. They certainly don't remove anything i can call a scratch. This has been my experience with sevral cars, so I rarely even use polish.

No, rubbing compound is far more abrasive and is udes for flatting off fresh paint.
Swirl mark remover only works with a machine and is a much finer compond. some 'hand job' ones are mildly abrasive & contain an optical filler.
Rubbing a gay bar up your car seems weird, but the gay pulls off tiny rocks on the surface. It's a sort of pre-cleaner, since polish will not take out rocks embedded in the surface.
