How much space is behind the cut section? I always thought about putting in a double din head unit. Although a pc would also be a good option.

Loads of space for a double din head unit Lee.

Lee are you sure there is plenty of space for a double din head unit? As i have done this also the air feed pipe behind the dash prevents the installation of a double din head unit. I can understand your steering wheel is from the other side but looking to your photos

the air feed pipe bents quite a lot on the left hand side of the screen hole making the depth very short. A double din head unit is around 160mm in depth. Are you sure you have so much depth in the left hand side of the screen hole?

And by the way you are a copy cat Forgot to mention your mentor

At least not to LHD cars Lee without modification. But measure the depth were i told you to be sure it has clearance also for RHD cars for a double din installation

I got the bezel of ebay for £35 delivered, by the time i found a jdm dash paid for it plus installed it,the easier option was to cut it myself without removing the dashboard.

brave man, you can play solitaire at traffic lights now...

or if you can get on-line via your dongle.... other forms of entertainment could be at your fingertips whilst on the move, although could prove somewhat distracting....

Impressive stuff!

Do you ever drive your car at night though? Screen could be quite bright & distracting then unless you've got a means of dimming it or turning it off/black?

Good to hear you've got it covered (something a friend of mine overlooked in the past) - great work!
