Default Car Tax

My S is MY06 (first register November 2006 so 56 plate) so I would have thought was in the "ouch" tax bracket however I only (say only its still alot) paid £225 for 12 months last August. I guess my question is why is that? am I just lucky?

Thanks in advance.

Eeeek! hope they don't realize like I say, paid £225 last August so hopefully pay similar this year (obviously will go up probably closer to £250).

It would appear I have dodged a bullet

Have a feeling they may eventually catch up with me.

Is the registration number correct on the tax disc? As it appears it's gone through as a pre-1st March 2001 S2000 (where cars over 1549cc are taxed at £230 (but last August could have been £225)).

Not sure how the PO cashier could do that without knowing they'd done it though.

I'd have thought the OP's tax band be wrong, but there are not any in 2013 that were £225.

As J_B suggests, it seems your V5 will be configured for a pre March 2001 car and is going by engine size, which was actually £225 in 2013.

Any plate changes on your car? Anything dating before 2001?

Done well though and keep stumm!

Whatever you do, don't start a thread on a car website about it...
