MB,

Thats correct. VTec occurs as normal. It seems to be just before it that the power goes, and only on full throttle...

...any ideas?

Only thing I can suggest without looking at all the signals from the ECU is to buy a new MAP from HardtopGuy and stick that in.

I will have a think though.... How long has it been happening and when were the mods done?

Like i said, the inital total lag happened around a month after the CAI was installed, that was last week. The after a tap on the MAP and a service its reduced to just a flat spot on full throttle.
The decat has been in for ages.

The inital problem just happened one day after the car had been sitting over the weekend.

My other thots were of a loose spark plug or maybe even a bad dose of optimax.

I think ill go for a new map and see how that works out in the meantime.

If you can think of anything else give me a shout MB, thanks very much by the way

No probs, these things interest me

If its only recent I would want to go through a few tanks of fuel to see if it goes away. So dont panic just yet.

It use to Roo a lot, but hasnt done it at all since i changed to the CAI. The Car was fine for a month with the CAI installed, and i done plenty of driving during that time. Ive also checked and double checked that its fitted correctly. So im pretty sure the fault doesnt rest with the CAI.

Like i said, ive done a lot of searching around the american pages and there is a lot of people that have had the same, hesitation, and flat spot problems. Some with loads of mods, some with none. Im just trying to find a quick fix (fingers crossed) and was hoping the map might be it.

She will be new some more go fast juice in a day or so, so ill top up with optimax and see how it goes in the meantime

Have you checked all the hose connections on the CAI? Perhaps one of them is coming loose under higher pressures (ie full throttle)? If it happened after the CAI was installed I'd say there's a good chance it is related to this, I'd go with Chris's suggestion of putting the OEM 'box on for a bit.

pull a plug, if it's running lean or rich you'll tell by the colour.. they are sooty as hell if running rich and i think if lean you get a coloured deposit.. is it white or light grey?? someone??

i don't fiddle with engines anymore.

you should be getting errors on your ecu either way (even if it doesn't light up), Honda <should> have checked that though
