What happened when you pressed the eject button on the multichanger?

If the changer is similar to the one I have in my car - you never know - if you open the door and insert a credit card/plastic card under the centre of the tray, you'll trip the eject mechanism and you'll get the cartridge out. You can then see what's up - perhaps with the rollers (jammed/dusty) or maybe a loose wire.

Another option may be to find the fuse for the changer and remove it to reset the unit. If you've got your codes that is

HI
Makes a wairing sound as if its trying to spit the cartridge out but cant. Strangely it doesnt make this sound all the time sometimes you press it and it makes no sound at all. The changer has been unused for probably 6 - 8 months, don't know if this has had an effect on it.

Thanks

Try what I mentioned above, if it pops out, try it over a few times until it ejects. I had this on mine when I first got the car as it hadn't been used for ages. Works fine now

Thanks, just had a quick go and it wouldnt pop out using a credit card, will try again in the daylight hours. My changer is black with the cradle has a small white Honda logo, slidling door and tourquise button....imagine its the same as yours. I'll try the fuse option if all else fails.
Thanks very much for your help so far !

Mine is a BMW one - rebadged something else though. Just a thought that it might work - don't go busting your changer trying to get yours to do the same!

Seriously though I expect its quite likely to have some sort of similar 'manual eject'

I've got this same problem. I was going to open up my changer in the near future to see what the problem was. Mine is a Honda OEM unit.

The stealers looking at the car Saturday (for something else) i'll ask them about the changer & if they come up with any clues, i'll pass them on.

I had a CD ERR on mine (ie that exact msg i think) and it just would not work (although it would eject iirc). You can reset the changer unit by unplugging it from the back of the stereo. This is quite simple, just grab the drop down door in front of the stereo and pull it off.. it does come off but there's a more scientific way in the FAQ i think, then there are a few screws holding the head unit in, remove then, pull the hu out and pull out the din plug, bung it back in after 10s and mine then worked fine. yours may not of course but its the same unit as mine. you often see used ones go for between 80-150 on ebay and on here.. don't pay silly dealer money (450).

in fact here's a link to my thread on the subject
