Missed this one somehow.

I can categorically state that the CEL has never ever come on during my ownership and I have certainly used 95 on occassion.

I might have run out once too But that was about a year ago.

Was this after the oil flush/replace and decat? Could be the 02 sensor if the latter.
It could be a few things to be honest!! i'm not worried as i said, i'll be stripping it out soon and as they say no pain no gain . Most likely T1R or missfire, its going on the ramps again tomorrow to change the fuel pump etc so it will be all go again

If you have decatted the car you will get a CEL, however above you say you haven't changed anything ??

Yes but now the o2 sensor could have coked up, it would take a while for this to happen, are you using anti-foulers?

My money is on the o2 sensor now

Mine did the best part of a fair few before the CEL came on.
I'd be putting my money on that first.

Take the O2 sensor out of the CAT and run the engine (don't drive) and see what happens.

Much as I find it a shame to hear of issues with the car that I sold, I think I'll have to draw a line now and step back.

As I said, this was the first car I sold to a person, rather than a dealer. Probably why I hung around so long

Steve, no offence, but (lock nut aside), you're on your own now.
