Default CEL - a query

Unfortunately, the search seems to be broken at the moment (only allows you to look at the first page of results) so I can't look to see if anyone has had this before.

When I went out to my car this morning, I found that I had managed to leave the drivers door ajar all night and the battery was drained.

I put the charger on for an hour as I had a fairly long trip to make, and knew that if I could get it started I would charge the battery on the drive to my appointment.

That worked fine, and I started the car and left it running while I disconnected the battery charger and put it back in the garage.

As I got in the car to drive away, my foot slipped and hit the accelerator hard and the engine revved to max while the car was in neutral (I'm normally very careful about warming up).

Drove out of my road and noticed that the CEL had come on and was staying on.

I drove down the road a ways fairly carefully - no misfires, issues with idling or hesitation. Took her onto a dual carriageway and accelerated smoothly without engaging VTEC with no issues.

However, faced with an hours drive on the M25, and not wanting to break down and need to be recovered, I took the car back to my local Honda dealer which is handily 5mins from my house.

Unfortunatley they weren't able to get the diagnostics on there and then, and as the CEL did not go off when I restarted the car, I had to leave the car with them and am awaiting a call back. (they did drop me off at home though).

Anyone with any thoughts or wisdom?

Typical - type out a long post and then Trident call to tell me the answer.
It was related to Low Volts - as I suspected.
They are giving me an advisory that the battery could probably do with a change and are offering a Honda battery for
