Default centre console lighting

My girlfriend's Vauxhall Vectra has a light that shine down from behind mirror onto the central console/gearstick. Has anyone installed anything similar in the S2000 to illuminate the centre console?

Can't help, but why would you want to light up the centre console?

Similar concept in my 3-series - there are two small LEDs in the unit that is on the 'ceiling' of the car which makes a nice pool of light around the gearstick.

Quite useful actually - I doubt it would be that difficult to do... (but beyond me )

cockpit ambience is all the rage at the moment! Personally I prefer it darker.

However lights near in the foot well and near the internal door handles would be good. My passengers can never find the handle to get out
