Default Centre of Gravity

Yesterday I took my car to Centre of Gravity for a checkover and geo set up. The reason I chose them was because I wanted them to diagnose any problems I had and discuss things with me at every stage, I could have had the geo done anywhere really but I had heard/read good things about CoG I wanted to give them a try.
First thing was chris sat down with me and asked me what problems I was having and what I wanted to acheive, this was followed by a test drive with Chris driving, his commentary on what was happening as he tried different things was very detailed and confirmed he knew what he was talking about.
The next step was a health check which involved checked the shockers and bushes etc, (all came back 100%)then the important job of checking the bolts, to say I was over the moon that all 10 bolts were completly free is an understatement
Upon reassembly he coated the bolts with a special grease and gauranteed me that they will never ever seize (fantastic)
Due to time constraints the geo will be done later in October though, managed to take couple if pics.

Cheers.....Tony..

And how much did it cost?

I can take the S to KwikFit for 4 wheel laser alignment - or I can take it to CoG.

I can understand why the later might be better than the former but whilst I know the (trivial) cost of the former, I've no idea whether the later is worth the additional investment.

I know of the high quality of the outcomes - I have no idea of the cost, in order to judge...

You pay for his knowledge, and therefore his ability to tailor your settings to suit you...not just standard settings, or from a choice of 2. Those with 'fast road settings' don't have a bespoke setting for their own style, or their own cars with differing parts.

Chris is well worth it IMO...I used him a couple of times and if I still had an S, he would be my first choice.

The guy who owned my S took it to CoG and the bill was over a grand He had to replace seized arms, adjusters and fitted new bushes so it was a big job.

To be fair though the car drives bloody amazing (hence why I'm still on 16s )

From what I'm told he tailors the setup to the drivers preferred style of driving. Knowing the car had been to COG was one of the main reasons for buying it

You read some previous posts on COG and then try telling me "you can't get better than a kwick fit fitter"

With the likes of kwikfit etc, you get a bog standard service with whatever they have in the computer...if a bush is a bit tight...they won't try a bit harder...nor will they get the settings bob on... just so it's in the green. They won't grease the bolts, they won't exercise as much care with the car, they won't redo the geo if you're not happy with it. They won't investigate little niggles and can't offer in depth advice...need I go on???
