OK then, the cost so far is about £150, when I have the full geo set up done later in the month then that will be £250 + vat!!! I think it's worth it though, at the end of the day you get what you pay for, technically anyone can set your geo up for you but only to std settings which does not suit everybody. CoG have data from hundreds of S2000's that they have done over the years so they know their stuff, at the end of the day it's your money and your choice.

As part of the health check Chris also does a shock absorber test on a special machine which akso gives you the corner weights and distribution etc

As you can see my shockers are OK but interesting to note the car only weighs 1218KG and not 1240 - 1250 as Honda quote, also the weight split is almost the perfect 50/50.

Cheers.....Tony..

Looking to get over there soon too... Redundancy slowed the process down, but I'm determined to get GEO sorted out on my S. I had some work done on my old Civic Type R, and once complete, the car felt more planted, and I felt more confident at pushing it more.

I'd love a similar feeling with my S! It just doesn't feel quite right!

Interested to see what your thoughts are once you get the Geo done Tony!

£400 + VAT for a GEO setup, well I guess it's your money.

S2KNut, you seem to want to find fault with CG when the opportunity arises. You have made it very clear in the past that you don't think Chris' service is value for money, but the cost isn't £400 + VAT just for a geo setup for the OP, now, is it?

Simon W, I think you will find that I am not finding fault with Chris' work, just the price people seem prepared to pay to go to him, and to answer your question

'but the cost isn't £400 + VAT just for a geo setup for the OP, now, is it?'
here is what the OP posted initially.

'I took my car to Centre of Gravity for a checkover and geo set up' so for a checkup it cost him £150 and for the GEO 250+VAT which the OP exclaimed with 3 exclamation marks, even he thought it was a lot of money ... and he is right. Therefore, yes it is a £400+ pound price for a GEO setup alone. Personally I think that is plain ridiculous, and I am entitled to my opinion regardless of whether it conflicts with yours, but as I stated already, it's his money.

S2kNut, I would not have thought that the checking, disassembly and lubrication of the bolts mentioned in the original post are part of a "geo setup alone".
I know you and I are not going to agree on this, and of course you are entitled to your opinion. I didn't suggest otherwise. Simply stating mine and suggesting you were inflating CG's price for a "geo setup alone". Readers can decide.

Once I get my AD08's I'm going straight to cog to get the geo done.

There's no point in arguing. Chris does charge allot for geo alignment, but he does spend allot of time working on the car, so it depends on the what the individual gets out of it.

I've been to COG (about 3 years ago) and paid £550 for him to supply and press two Mugen castor bushes in to my front arms and a geo. He did a really good job, but it did cost a fair wack.

Now I go to Tony at WIM and pay £95, about half what Chris charges. The difference is I don't need a test drive and educating on suspension. WIM are friendly and informative and give me the settings I need.

+1 for CoG

and ignore Nut, people prefer different places for different reasons and spend more money in different areas, he slated me for taking mine there too
