Default Changed my dash gauges and switches ..

This is probably a well known mod, but I haven't seen it on the UK forums so thought I'd share. I've replaced the incandescent bulbs in my dash gauges with LEDs and changed the colour from orange to blue. The switches have changed too - they now glow white rather than orange and the little lights are now blue.

It doesn't show up that well in the vid but the lettering on the start button glows blue too.

Maybe not for everyone but I'm loving it!

Looks good - there's a few of us that have done it.

Squeak went blue.
GaryB went another colour.
I went white but with red buttons.

Probably a few more by now too.

Looks so much nicer than pi55 ginger

Crappy Work Browser wont let me see the vid.
Are the LED's from CUBE Engineering in the states? Seen the banner advertisement a few times and have considered it.
Not looked into it in much detail, but assume the dials are easy to remove and open up?

QUBE is California - spot on to deal with.

Dials are easy enough, think their facelift versions are easier to fit than the pre facelift - ask Loftust - he's done it as has GaryB.

I opted for the easier 'change the lamps to LED' approach. Cost 1/10th - looks about 7/10ths as good.

I ordered the bits from Qube Engineering in the States. Take a look here. There's two parts to it.

Firstly there's the LED Gauge Cluster which replaces the bulbs in the gauge cluster with LEDs and places a new colour filter over the top. You can order on an exchange basis, where they send you an entirely new core, which you swap with your stock one (and send back to the states). I went for the cheaper do it yourself option, where you need to open up the core and install the LEDs and filter yourself. There's some soldering involved, but I managed it and I'm not an expert at these things.

Secondly there's the LED Dash Controls which works on an exchange basis.

I can't fault it at all. There's loads of colours to choose from and the end result looks perfect.

Agree with unclefester that they are spot on to deal with!

[edit] forgot to say that there's step by step instructions too - clicky
