Default Changing the Leather Shift Gaitor....

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how difficult it is to change the leather gaitor around the gear stick and the actual gear knob itself?!

I am looking to do it providing it does not create any damage, and looks perfect afterwards.

Thinking about getting a new leather gaitor and gear knob from Ricks (if anyone has an opinion on this) or is there somewhere better to get this?

Thanks!

Its easy - The centre console pops out and the gaitor is held on by a couple of screws.

Leather ones look nice.

I am going to resist the temptation to start another line of knob jokes.....

Oh, go on then - your knob looks quite big and shiny. How did it get such a rough texture to it? Oh dear.

Kem appears to have an 04+ which is clearly a different design. Has anyone changed an 04+?

I need the bit that holds the gaitor to the console, I'm in discssoin with a breaker about getting it but they tell me they will have to break it to get to get it off. If it's like the Mk1 then there's some welded plastic that does need some assistance - it is the same?

There is no difference.

Since those pics I have fitted an 04 centre console with the same leather gaitor.
