Default Changing stereo

Hello,

I've bought an Alpine stereo but its a high-powered one so it wants a seperate live feed. For this reason I decided I am gonna get it installed at a professional outfit.

They've said I might need an adapter for the honda leads to the iso leads. Anyone know if this is the case?

Is there anywhere easy to take feed from inside the car? It needs a live and ignition feed, and they seem to be thicker cables than the ones in the honda wiring that i took out of the standard player.

If you had a Honda stereo in there, you will need a ISO adapter lead, this will take care of the power feeds too.

You need a KCE adapter which also allows you to use the dash controls.

I have wired mine directly into the fuse box under my right knee. This is simple to access and connect.

Andy, you have the KE865 adapter off me so ISO leads are a non issue. A direct feed from the battery is recommended (although StevenM always mentions he did not do it ) but if the

I remember the days when I used to be into ICE as a teenager. I did some interesting wiring for stereo's and amps, instead of taking a feed from the battery, I would run it off the feed for the fag lighter and continually blow fuses.

Yeah me too Gaz, or off the heater supply if it was nearby, nice high rating on that.

Remember the once we had LOTS of smoke coming out the dash as my mate managed to cross wire the remote-on feed for his foglights.

I seperately wired both my previous S's with Alpines to the battery.
My current one I just ran off the Honda loom with the ISO connector. No problems at all!

Right. I had it fitted, and all is good except they didnt join the mute cable to the att cable feed on the stereo grrr. I'll sort it myself cos the installer is 20 miles away and was already trying to charge me extra for using "an adapter they arent used to and will have to work out what the wires are".

Now onto phase 2 - fitting aftermarket speakers. I decided to keep with Alpine and bought some 220w peak ones. I got them from Halfrauds, and I know it was a mistake, but I asked the guy "are these gonna fit in an S2000 ok?". He looked in a book, and claimed yes cos they are 16cm. Bear in mind these were an impulse buy anyway, lol.

Well I had the door apart today, and found that they don't fit in the frame the standard speaker is in. Honda also have a spazzy connector plug.

How did others get round this, or am I gonna have to try to take them back?
